It's unclear what led to it, but the Lions spectator involved in the altercation was holding a Steelers jersey before the incident, according to Tracy Wolfson of CBS Sports.

NFL officials can't weigh in on Metcalf's altercation with the fan if they didn't see it during the game, retired NFL referee Gene Steratore said during the broadcast. Footage will be delivered to the league for potential discipline next week.
"I heard about it, but I hadn't seen it," Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said postgame, according to The Associated Press. "I hadn't had an opportunity to talk to DK."
Metcalf finished the day with four catches for 42 yards, helping the Steelers claim a 29-24 win.
