Report: Raiders' Smith likely out vs. Eagles; Pickett in line to start
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Geno Smith is considered unlikely to play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles due to a shoulder injury, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Kenny Pickett would get the start against his former team if Smith can't suit up. Pickett spent last season with the reigning Super Bowl champions as Jalen Hurts' backup. He was traded to the Cleveland Browns in the offseason before being sent to the Raiders.
Smith suffered the injury in last week's loss to the Denver Broncos.
The 35-year-old is having a dreadful first season in Las Vegas, throwing for 16 touchdowns and a league-leading 14 interceptions.
Pickett threw a touchdown and completed 8 of his 11 passing attempts in the game against the Broncos after Smith's exit.
The 2-11 Raiders take on an Eagles team that has lost three straight games.
