Report: Bengals' Hendrickson to have season-ending surgery
Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson will undergo core muscle surgery that's expected to sideline him for about six weeks, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Hendrickson reportedly sustained the injury during the Bengals' 27-18 road loss against the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 12.
After rest and rehab failed to resolve the issue, the 31-year-old is seeking further treatment, Schefter adds.
Hendrickson hasn't played since aggravating his injury during an Oct. 26 defeat to the New York Jets. There was initial optimism that he could return this season since Cincinnati hadn't placed him on injured reserve.
However, the 2025 campaign hasn't gone as the Bengals or Hendrickson hoped, with the team sitting third in the AFC North at 4-9. The four-time Pro Bowler led the league with 17.5 sacks in 2024 after tallying the same mark in 2023.
Although Cincinnati and Hendrickson couldn't reach a long-term deal for the second consecutive offseason, the two sides negotiated a raise for the star this year.
Hendrickson recorded four sacks and three tackles for loss in seven games this season.
