Report: Bills tried trading for Dolphins' Waddle
The Buffalo Bills made a big-time attempt to land wide receiver Jaylen Waddle from their division rivals.
Buffalo's package offered to the Miami Dolphins included a 2027 first-round pick and a 2026 third-round pick and was the highest bid for Waddle, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. However, the Dolphins reportedly wanted a 2026 first-round selection instead and deemed the Bills' offer inadequate.
Waddle wasn't the only impact player in the AFC East whom the Bills tried to land. Buffalo also targeted former New York Jets defensive lineman Quinnen Williams, Pelissero adds. In addition to the Bills, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Dallas Cowboys were also apparently pursuing Williams, with the latter ultimately winning the sweepstakes.
It was reported ahead of the trade deadline that the Bills were exploring options for a wide receiver, though no deals materialized.
Khalil Shakir is Buffalo's leading wide receiver, but he's recorded only 399 yards on 38 catches. Tight end Dalton Kincaid tops the team in receiving yards with 411.
The 6-2 Bills trail the 7-2 New England Patriots for the best record in the AFC East.
