Saints trade Shaheed to Seahawks
The New Orleans Saints traded wide receiver Rashid Shaheed to the Seattle Seahawks for 2026 fourth- and fifth-round picks, the teams announced Tuesday.
In Seattle, Shaheed will reunite with offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who served in the same role with the Saints last season.
Shaheed was expected to be one of the top wideouts available at the trade deadline with the 1-8 Saints positioned at the bottom of the NFC.
The 27-year-old has caught 44 passes for 499 yards and two touchdowns through nine games this season. His 55.4 receiving yards per game are just a hair under his career-high mark of 58.2, which he set last year.
Shaheed is also a dynamic return man with punt return touchdowns in each of the last two seasons.
His addition presents another weapon to a high-octane Seahawks offense that's averaging 28.9 points per game, good enough for fifth in the NFL. He joins a receiving corps that features Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who leads the league in receiving yards with 948, and veteran Cooper Kupp.
The 6-2 Seahawks are tied with the Los Angeles Rams for the best record in the NFC West.
