Report: Dolphins 'unlikely' to trade Waddle despite being sellers

The Miami Dolphins are willing to listen to offers on any of their players leading up to Tuesday's trade deadline, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

However, a deal involving wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is reportedly unlikely. Miami's asking price of a first-round pick plus another asset is expected to be too high for other teams, according to Schefter.

Waddle, 26, is under contract through the 2028 campaign and will only make approximately $40 million from 2026-27. The former top-10 pick has 41 catches for 586 yards and four touchdowns this year.

The Dolphins parted ways with general manager Chris Grier on Friday. They were receiving calls on pass-rushers Jaelan Phillips, Bradley Chubb, and Matthew Judon before Grier's exit, sources told Schefter. Those calls are now expected to intensify under interim GM Champ Kelly, and it's reportedly likely Miami deals at least one of its edge rushers before the deadline.

Phillips, who was selected in the first round of the 2021 draft, is in the final year of his contract and is currently playing on the fifth-year option.

Judon is also set to become an unrestricted free agent in March, while Chubb is locked up through the 2027 campaign after signing a five-year, $110-million contract in 2022.

Miami is 2-7 after losing to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night. The Dolphins' next contest comes after the trade deadline against the Buffalo Bills on Nov. 9.
