Report: Vikings' Wentz to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Carson Wentz will undergo season-ending surgery on his left shoulder, sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Wentz's left shoulder was in a brace during Thursday's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers as he played through the injury. However, a surgical procedure was reportedly deemed necessary after the game. The veteran passer, who was sacked five times and took eight hits, was in visible pain during the matchup.

Wentz originally sustained the injury in the first half of an Oct. 5 game against the Cleveland Browns. He suffered a dislocation that tore his labrum and fractured the socket, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
He completed 65.1% of his passes for 1,216 yards and six touchdowns against five interceptions in 2025. The Vikings signed him in August to serve as J.J. McCarthy's backup.
Wentz, 32, started five contests while replacing an injured McCarthy, who sustained an ankle sprain Sept. 14. McCarthy, however, is on track to return Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
Undrafted rookie Max Brosmer is the only other QB on Minnesota's roster. He made the team's initial 53-man squad after having a successful preseason.
