Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a hamstring injury in the third quarter of Sunday's 44-22 loss to the Dallas Cowboys and did not return.

He was spotted holding the back of his leg as he walked gingerly off the field. He eventually jogged to the locker room.

Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said postgame that Daniels wanted to re-enter the game, per ESPN's John Keim. The quarterback will get an MRI on his hamstring Monday.
The reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year missed two games earlier this season with a knee injury.
Daniels completed 12 of 22 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown before exiting. He added 35 yards and a score on the ground over eight carries. Daniels entered Sunday with seven touchdowns, one interception, and a 98.7 passer rating on the season.
Backup quarterback Marcus Mariota entered the game in relief of Daniels and threw a pick-six to DaRon Bland on his first drive. Washington went 1-1 in the two games Mariota started this season.
