Bucs without Godwin, Evans, Irving vs. 49ers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won't have wide receivers Chris Godwin and Mike Evans or running back Bucky Irving available for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers, head coach Todd Bowles announced Friday, according to ESPN's Jenna Laine.
Godwin joins Evans, who missed the past two games, and Irving, who was out last week, on the sidelines due to a fibula injury. Bowles described Godwin's ailment as a week-to-week injury.
Godwin has played in two games since returning from an ankle injury he suffered in October 2024. However, the 29-year-old hasn't made a strong impression. Godwin posted an identical line of three catches for 26 yards in both games. He also caught just six of his 14 targets.
First-round rookie Emeka Egbuka has been the go-to wideout in Tampa Bay's passing attack with a team-high 445 yards and five touchdowns.
Sunday's matchup will carry high stakes as both the Bucs and 49ers enter with 4-1 records.
