Report: Cowboys' Lamb could miss 3-4 weeks with ankle sprain
Dallas Cowboys wideout CeeDee Lamb is unlikely to play against the Green Bay Packers after suffering a high ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bears, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Lamb could miss 3-4 weeks with the injury, sources told Todd Archer of ESPN.
The Cowboys would like to see how Lamb is doing over the next 10-14 days before making any further decisions on his status.
Lamb appeared to suffer the injury after his left ankle seemingly got trapped under the leg of Bears linebacker Noah Sewell during a tackle. The Cowboys star re-entered the game in the second quarter after being attended to by team trainers on the sideline. However, he limped back off the field after one play and did not return for the remainder of the game.
Lamb was spotted wearing a protective boot on his left foot and used a walking scooter Monday while at the team's facility, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Nick Harris.
Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said that the team is taking a patient approach to evaluating Lamb's status during a radio appearance Monday.
"We've got to evaluate the full thing, see how he's moving around as the day goes," Jones said, per Harris. "Certainly, he's got a high ankle sprain and every one of those are different."
Lamb leads the team with 222 receiving yards on 16 receptions through three games. The Oklahoma product has posted 1,000-yard campaigns in each of the past four seasons. George Pickens is expected to see an uptick in targets in the four-time Pro Bowler's absence. Jalen Tolbert, KaVontae Turpin, and Ryan Flournoy complete Dallas' receiving depth chart.
