Tua: I'm not 'too cool' to play in the preseason
Some quarterbacks don't want to play during the preseason. Miami Dolphins Tua Tagovailoa isn't one of them.
"I'd definitely love to get some preseason snaps in. No doubt," Tagovailoa told reporters Wednesday, including ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques. "It's a new season, it's a new year. Got to get things tuned in with the guys again, all of that. I don't think I'm better than anyone on this team or think I'm too cool to get reps in during preseason games."
The Dolphins have a loaded schedule featuring four joint practices with other teams and three preseason games.
Tagovailoa played a single series in the 2024 preseason. He went 5-for-5 passing for 51 yards and a touchdown.
The quarterback has a notable injury history. His most recent - a hip injury - kept him out of the final two games of the 2024 regular season. He also missed time in the concussion protocol last year.
