An MRI confirmed Cleveland Browns cornerback Martin Emerson suffered a torn Achilles and will miss the 2025 season, head coach Kevin Stefanski announced Wednesday, according to ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi.
Emerson was carted off during Tuesday's practice after going to the ground while covering a receiver.
A third-round pick in 2022, Emerson has grown into dependable starter for the Browns' secondary. He's made 33 career starts with 27 coming over the last two seasons.
He failed to record an interception last season but had four picks in 2023.
Greg Newsome may be slated for an expanded role now that Emerson is out for the season.
