The New Orleans Saints and rookie quarterback Tyler Shough agreed to terms on a fully guaranteed $10.795-million contract Saturday, his agents confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Shough becomes the latest second-round selection whose entry-level contract is fully guaranteed at signing. He'll receive an annual roster bonus, a feature that's not in the contract of any other pick outside the first round, per Schefter.

The Louisville product and the Saints came to an agreement prior to the start of training camp July 23.

Several players drafted in the second round remain unsigned as training camp approaches. The situation was complicated further after the Houston Texans signed receiver Jayden Higgins (No. 34 overall) to the first fully guaranteed deal for a second-round pick in May. The Cleveland Browns followed suit by inking linebacker Carson Schwesinger (No. 33) to a fully guaranteed four-year, $11.78-million contract.

New Orleans selected Shough with the No. 40 overall pick in the 2025 draft. Shough was the third quarterback taken behind No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward and Jaxson Dart. He's expected to compete for the Saints' starting role alongside Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener following the retirement of Derek Carr this offseason.

The 25-year-old Shough passed for 3,195 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions in his final collegiate season at Louisville.
