Eagles to host Cowboys in 2025 season opener
The 2025 NFL regular season will kick off with the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, Sept. 4.
It's the first division rivalry matchup to start a regular season since the Green Bay Packers played the Chicago Bears in 2019. Breaking from tradition that year, the NFL spotlighted its oldest and most-played rivalry to kick off the league's 100th season.
The 2025 season opener will feature Dak Prescott's return, as the Cowboys quarterback missed Dallas' final games last year due to injury.
The Eagles swept their season series against the Cowboys in 2024 for the first time since 2011. Philadelphia dominated its nemesis, outscoring Dallas 75-13 in two contests last campaign. Philly has also won three of the past four meetings in the rivalry.
The NFL will release its full schedule for the upcoming season Wednesday.
