New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr suffered a significant fracture in his non-throwing hand during Sunday's win over the New York Giants, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero report.
The injury to his left hand is expected to sideline him multiple weeks, which means Carr will likely miss the rest of the 2024 season, Rapoport and Pelissero add.
Interim head coach Darren Rizzi described Carr as "week-to-week," adding that the quarterback isn't expected to be placed on injured reserve. Carr is also in concussion protocol, according to Rizzi.
Carr was hurt while attempting to dive over multiple Giants defenders on a second-down play during the fourth quarter.

Jake Haener finished the game as Carr did not return.
This marks Carr's second significant injury of the season. He missed three games earlier this year due to an oblique issue. Rookie Spencer Rattler started in his place but went 0-3 with one touchdown to two interceptions.
Carr threw 15 touchdowns to five interceptions while averaging 214.5 passing yards per game this year.
The 5-8 Saints are third in the NFC South behind the 7-8 Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 6-7 Atlanta Falcons.
