49ers open McCaffrey's practice window
The San Francisco 49ers opened running back Christian McCaffrey's practice window Monday as he looks to return from the Achilles/calf injuries that landed him on injured reserve, the team announced.

The 28-year-old hasn't played since San Francisco fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII.
Jordan Mason has been the 49ers' lead back in McCaffrey's absence, rushing for 685 yards and three touchdowns on 134 carries. Isaac Guerendo added 227 rushing yards and a score.
The 49ers' offense remained effective without the reigning Offensive Player of the Year, ranking second in total yards per game (412.4) and sixth in points per contest (26.3).
McCaffrey led the league with 339 touches, 2,023 scrimmage yards, and 21 touchdowns last season. His 1,459 rushing yards also paced the league.
The Bucs' defense ranks 30th in total yards surrendered per game (387) and tied for 28th in points allowed per contest (26.6) this year.
