Report: Saints' Shaheed out for season
New Orleans Saints receiver Rashid Shaheed will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing meniscus surgery Thursday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Shaheed was placed on injured reserve and faces a four-to-six month recovery, Schefter adds.
Doctors opted for the full repair rather than just trimming his meniscus, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The 26-year-old was off to a hot start this season, hauling in 20 passes for 349 yards and three touchdowns. He also returned a punt for a score.
The Saints are already playing without Chris Olave, who is set to miss Thursday night's game against the Denver Broncos due to a concussion. Quarterback Derek Carr has also been sidelined with an oblique issue.
New Orleans is reportedly among the teams interested in New York Jets wideout Mike Williams.
