Buffalo Bills running back James Cook is inactive for Monday night's contest against the New York Jets due to a toe injury, the team announced.
This is the first time Cook has missed a game over his three-year career.
Cook was questionable coming into the prime-time contest. He missed practice Thursday and Friday but was a limited participant Saturday.
The 25-year-old leads the Bills in yards from scrimmage with 432. He's rushed for 309 yards on 70 carries.
With Cook down, fourth-round rookie Ray Davis is slated to make his first career start. Buffalo also elevated Frank Gore Jr. from the practice squad.
