Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. is expected to miss multiple weeks with a back injury that could land him on injured reserve, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The loss of Pittman means the Colts are in jeopardy of not having their starting receiver, starting quarterback Anthony Richardson, and starting running back Jonathan Taylor in Week 6 due to injuries. Richardson missed a Week 5 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars due to an oblique ailment, while Taylor was sidelined with an ankle issue.

Pittman didn't practice Wednesday due to the back injury. A stint on IR would knock him out for at least four games.

The 27-year-old receiver has hauled in 22 receptions for 238 yards and one touchdown. He's gone over 100 yards in only one of his five starts this season, a 113-yard effort against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4.

The Colts will travel to Tennessee to take on the Titans in Week 6, looking to bring their 2-3 record back up to .500.
