Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell believes Jahmyr Gibbs will be "fine" after the running back sustained a hamstring injury during Monday's practice.
"I think we're gonna be fine here," Campbell told 97.1 The Ticket on Wednesday morning. "I think we'll be good."
Campbell also said he's optimistic about first-round rookie corner Terrion Arnold, who sustained a pectoral injury Monday. He's not expected to miss time in the regular season, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
"Immediately, two days ago, my phone's blowing up," Campbell added. "I got all these people hitting me up about, 'Man, what happened to Gibbs?! Oh my god, TA! It's done.' All these reports are out."
The extent of Gibbs' injury remains unclear. The 22-year-old - who missed two games in 2023 due to a hamstring issue - stood out as a first-round rookie last season, finishing the campaign with 1,261 scrimmage yards and 11 total touchdowns while averaging 5.2 yards per carry on 182 rushing attempts. He shared the backfield with veteran tailback David Montgomery.
The Lions boast one of the NFL's top offensive units, having ranked in the top five for total points in each of the last two seasons.
