Davante Adams' agents: Trade talk about WR 'baseless'
Davante Adams' agents, Kenny Chapman and Frank Bauer, said Tuesday that they anticipate their client will stay with the Las Vegas Raiders amid "baseless" speculation regarding his future.
The star wideout has been with the Raiders since 2022. However, the New York Jets - led by quarterback Aaron Rodgers - have strongly pursued him this year, producing trade rumors linking the two sides throughout the offseason.
"This is baseless, unfounded speculation, and Davante is expected to be with the Raiders as there has been absolutely no trade talk - period," Adams' agents said in a statement, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Rodgers - who formed one of the NFL's top duos with Adams on the Green Bay Packers from 2014-21 - recently said he couldn't wait to play with Adams again. Adams, a six-time Pro Bowler, confirmed that the future Hall of Fame quarterback has been in his ear lately.
Despite Rodgers' and the Jets' attempts to recruit Adams, the Raiders reportedly remain committed to keeping the 31-year-old receiver. Adams has caught 22 touchdowns in two seasons with Las Vegas.
