Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller is inactive for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots despite having no injury designation.

Head coach Sean McDermott's decision to sideline the star defender in Week 17 comes amid a disappointing season for Miller, who has yet to record a sack in 2023. The former Super Bowl MVP also missed this season's first four games while recovering from a torn ACL sustained in 2022.

The 34-year-old has amassed only three tackles and three QB hits while playing 32% of Buffalo's defensive snaps across 11 appearances in 2023.

One of the greatest edge rushers in NFL history, Miller joined the Bills in March 2022 on a six-year, $120-million contract. He's the Denver Broncos' all-time leader with 110.5 sacks. The Broncos traded the 2011 No. 2 pick to the Rams in 2021 before he helped Los Angeles win Super Bowl LVI.

Miller racked up 21 tackles (10 for loss), 12 QB hits, and eight sacks through 11 games last season before going down with a knee injury.

Leonard Floyd and A.J. Epenesa have been Buffalo's top edge rushers in 2023, having recorded 10.5 and 6.5 sacks, respectively. With 8.5 sacks and 13 tackles for loss, interior defensive lineman Ed Oliver has also been a major contributor amid his breakout campaign.
