Giants place Darren Waller, Tyrod Taylor on IR
The New York Giants have placed tight end Darren Waller and quarterback Tyrod Taylor on injured reserve, according to Field Yates of ESPN.
Waller suffered the injury in last week's loss to the New York Jets. He was forced to leave the contest after playing only 17 snaps and didn't return. Waller was coming off his best game of the season as he totaled seven catches on eight targets for 98 yards and a touchdown in Week 7 against the Washington Commanders.
The Giants sent a third-round pick to the Las Vegas Raiders for Waller last offseason. He missed eight games and was placed on IR in 2022 with a hamstring ailment.
Taylor started the Week 8 contest against the Jets before leaving the game after taking a big hit. He's gone 1-2 while throwing for 487 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions across three starts for New York this season.
Quarterback Daniel Jones will return from a neck injury Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders after a three-game absence.
