San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey is active for Monday night's game against the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced.

McCaffrey was listed as questionable for the prime-time matchup after suffering an oblique injury last week in the 49ers' first loss of the season to the Cleveland Browns.

McCaffrey returned to practice in a limited capacity Saturday after missing the first two sessions of the week.

The star running back suiting up is a major boost for the 49ers, as wide receiver Deebo Samuel (shoulder) will miss at least the next two games, while left tackle Trent Williams (ankle) is also out for the Vikings game after being listed as doubtful.

However, the 49ers are getting linebacker Dre Greenlaw back after he missed Week 6 with a hamstring injury. Greenlaw has started five games this season, recording 37 tackles and one sack.

McCaffrey is in the MVP conversation after an outstanding start to the campaign. He leads the NFL in rushing yards (553), is tied for second in rushing touchdowns, and has 177 yards and two scores as a receiver.

McCaffrey is also riding a 15-game touchdown streak.

The 49ers will be looking to join the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs as the NFL's only 6-1 teams with a win against the Vikings.
