Geno Smith briefly exits MNF with knee injury
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith briefly left Monday's 24-3 win against the New York Giants with a knee injury.
Smith appeared to be limping after an incompletion on third down in the second quarter. He was spotted running on the sideline before entering the team's medical tent. Smith went into the locker room with two minutes remaining in the half.
The Seahawks listed his return as questionable. Smith returned to the field for the start of the second half.
Drew Lock entered for the subsequent series to close out the opening half. It marked the 26-year-old's first regular-season game since being acquired from the Denver Broncos in 2022.
Smith completed 9 of 11 passes for 67 yards and a touchdown prior to his exit. The 2022 Pro Bowler entered Monday's prime-time matchup with 736 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception.
Smith was among several starters to exit the Week 4 contest. Offensive guard Phil Haynes was ruled out with a calf injury and Jamal Adams was pulled following an evaluation for a concussion.
Head coach Pete Carroll revealed that Smith twisted his knee but is optimistic the ailment isn't serious, according to team reporter John Boyle.
