Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers was a healthy scratch in Sunday's 30-23 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Akers could end up being traded, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported Sunday, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

The 24-year-old seemingly reacted to the reports on social media:

Akers led the team with 22 carries during a Week 1 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. He finished the game with just 29 yards (1.3 per carry) and one touchdown. Second-year tailback Kyren Williams outplayed Akers with 52 yards (3.5 per attempt) and two scores.

The Rams reportedly explored trading Akers during the 2022 season but ultimately turned down multiple offers. The 2020 second-round pick missed two games last year due to personal reasons and reportedly had football-related differences with head coach Sean McVay.

McVay addressed the situation postgame Sunday, saying it's "different" than what happened last year, according to The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue.

Akers paced Los Angeles in 2022 and finished the campaign with 786 yards (4.2 per carry) and seven touchdowns in 15 appearances. The Florida State product has amassed 1,443 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns in 30 games since joining L.A. He suffered a torn Achilles and appeared in just one regular-season contest in 2021.

With Akers sidelined, Williams led the Rams with 14 carries for 52 yards and one touchdown versus the Niners. He also had six receptions for 48 yards and one score.

The team's running back depth chart includes Ronnie Rivers and sixth-round rookie Zach Evans, who was also inactive in Week 2. Los Angeles elevated tailback Royce Freeman from the practice squad before Sunday's game.
