Jets overcome Rodgers injury, walk off Bills in OT with punt return TD
Despite losing Aaron Rodgers just four plays into his Jets debut, New York rallied to stun the Buffalo Bills 22-16 with a walk-off punt return touchdown in overtime on Monday night.
After forcing a three-and-out on Buffalo's first possession in overtime, rookie receiver Xavier Gipson called game by returning the opposition's punt 65 yards for a game-ending touchdown.

An MRI on Tuesday confirmed that Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles and will miss the remainder of the season, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The Jets looked to be on their way to a season-opening loss before outscoring the Bills 13-3 in the second half. New York's comeback was inspired by the play of their defense and second-year wide receiver Garrett Wilson.
Wilson made a catch-of-the-year grab with just under five minutes to go to draw the game even at 13-13. New York then kicked a go-ahead field goal with less than two minutes left before the Bills responded with a game-tying kick of their own in the final seconds of regulation.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen struggled to protect the football in Monday's contest with four turnovers to his name. Allen threw three interceptions - with all three picks falling in the hands of Jets safety Jordan Whitehead - and also committed a fumble.
New York lost Rodgers early in the prime-time contest. He limped off the field early in the first quarter after appearing to get his foot caught in the turf on a sack. He was carted to the locker room before being ruled out.
Head coach Robert Saleh said postgame that he suspects the veteran quarterback, who was acquired in a trade this offseason, suffered an Achilles injury, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "It's not good," Saleh told reporters.
New York relied on former No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson for the majority of the contest following Rodgers' injury. Wilson completed 14 of his 21 passes for 140 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Saleh confirmed Wilson will start with Rodgers sidelined, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Jets running back Breece Hall carried the workload on the ground with a team-high 127 yards rushing. It was Hall's first game since he tore his ACL in Week 7 last season. Free-agent addition Dalvin Cook also pitched in 33 yards on 13 carries.
New York will travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys in Week 2. Buffalo will return home to host the Las Vegas Raiders next Sunday.
