Report: Vikings' Jefferson won't sign extension before season
All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson isn't expected to sign an extension ahead of the Minnesota Vikings' Week 1 contest, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Jefferson and the team will revisit negotiations after the season.
The 24-year-old is entering the fourth year of his rookie deal after being selected with the No. 22 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Jefferson is under contract through 2024 after Minnesota picked up his fifth-year option in April.
Jefferson has got off to a historic start since entering the league. He's hauled in 324 receptions for 4,825 yards and 25 touchdowns in 50 career games. The reception and yardage marks are the most ever through a player's first three seasons.
The three-time Pro Bowler led the league in receptions (128) and yards (1,809) in 2023. His efforts earned him a first-team All-Pro nod and Offensive Player of the Year honors.
