McLaurin off injury report, set to play opener vs. Cardinals
Washington Commanders star wideout Terry McLaurin will be active for Sunday's season opener against the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced Friday.
McLaurin has been rehabbing a turf toe injury suffered during a preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens. He returned to practice Wednesday but was listed as a limited participant. He was upgraded to a full participant for Thursday's practice session.
"I'm confident with where things are right now," McLaurin said, according to team reporter Zach Selby. "I'm just gonna continue to try to have a good day tomorrow and see how I feel waking up after today and take it from there."
McLaurin led all Washington pass-catchers last season with 77 receptions and 1,191 receiving yards to go along with five touchdowns.
The Commanders also listed defensive end Chase Young as questionable for Sunday. The former Pro Bowl pass-rusher is working his way back from a stinger suffered in the team's preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns.
Young, who has been limited in practice throughout the week, is set to visit with a doctor Friday to determine his availability for Week 1. Head coach Ron Rivera said "if he's cleared, he'll go."
The Ohio State product has played in 12 games over the past two seasons after tearing his ACL during the 2021 season and beginning last season on the physically unable to perform list.
