Jaguars' Agnew impressed with Ridley: 'He’s a mismatch nightmare'
After three weeks of practice, Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Calvin Ridley is already beginning to impress his teammates.
"You just watch him out there, he's a mismatch nightmare. In my opinion, I don't think anybody can guard him in the league." Jaguars wide receiver Jamal Agnew told talkSPORT.
The Jaguars acquired Ridley at the trade deadline, but he was serving an indefinite suspension for violating the league's gambling policies.
Ridley was fully reinstated following the season and is eligible to take the field for the Jaguars in 2023.
The Alabama product came out the gate running after being selected with the No. 26 pick by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2018 NFL Draft. He combined for 1,687 receiving yards in his first two seasons, then followed that up with a career year, hauling in 90 catches for 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns.
"Just the way he moves, you can see," Agnew said, per talkSPORT. "His route running, he can run, catch anything you throw to him, he's just different, man.
Ridley slots into a wide-receiver room that includes Christian Kirk, who had the first 1,000-yard receiving campaign of his young career last season.
