Bills' Allen: Mahomes is 'the clear No. 1' QB in AFC
Buffalo Bills signal-caller Josh Allen believes Patrick Mahomes deserves the distinction of being the best quarterback in the AFC.
Allen threw his support behind Mahomes while discussing a tier list of AFC quarterbacks on the "Kyle Brandt's Basement" podcast Wednesday.
"Until me or (Joe Burrow) or anybody else can win a Super Bowl, I think Pat's kinda the clear No. 1 right now," Allen said. "He's been playing at such a high level for so long, and he's got the rings to prove it."
In his five seasons as the Kansas City Chiefs' starting quarterback, Mahomes led the team to five straight AFC Championship Game appearances and two Super Bowl championships. He has two NFL MVP awards, two Super Bowl MVP awards, and five Pro Bowl selections to his name.
Allen finished third in NFL MVP voting last season after leading the Bills to a 13-3 record and their third straight AFC East title. The team fell to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC divisional round.
