The New York Jets are preparing to start Mike White in the Week 15 game against the Detroit Lions despite the quarterback suffering a rib injury in Sunday's loss to the Buffalo Bills, head coach Robert Saleh said, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
White, who was hospitalized as a precaution after the AFC East matchup, is considered day-to-day. He exited the game twice after taking big shots but returned both times.
Defensive lineman Quinnen Williams is also viewed as day-to-day after sustaining a calf injury against Buffalo. Williams appeared to suffer a non-contact injury after awkwardly planting his leg but was able to walk off the field.
White started the last three games after the Jets benched former No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson. The 2018 fifth-round pick threw for 952 yards and three touchdowns against two interceptions, helping the Jets go 1-2.
Joe Flacco replaced White briefly against the Bills and would be in line to start if White can't play.
