Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Allen Robinson is set to undergo foot surgery that will end his 2022 season, head coach Sean McVay said Sunday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Robinson sustained the injury late Friday, according to The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue. He was ruled inactive ahead of the Rams' 26-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 12.

The reigning Super Bowl champions had high expectations for Robinson after signing him to a three-year, $46.5-million contract during free agency in March. He tallied 33 receptions for 339 yards and three touchdowns this season for an average of 10.3 yards per catch.

Robinson recorded back-to-back 1,000-plus-yard campaigns in 2019 and 2020 as a member of the Chicago Bears.

The 29-year-old's injury is another blow to L.A.'s roster. Star wideout Cooper Kupp was placed on injured reserve after sustaining an ankle injury in Week 10, and quarterback Matthew Stafford continues to deal with a strained neck that kept him out of Sunday's contest.

The Rams dropped to 3-8 after Sunday's loss and are last in the NFC West.
