Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf was ruled out of Sunday's 37-23 win over the Los Angeles Chargers late in the first quarter after being carted to the locker room due to a knee injury.

Initial X-rays on Metcalf’s knee were negative, and he'll undergo further testing after the team returns to Seattle, head coach Pete Carroll announced, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Metcalf likely sustained the ailment while trying to make a catch near the end zone early in the contest. He remained on the field for the ensuing third down and returned to Seattle's sideline before departing.

Metcalf exited the contest with Seattle leading 17-0. The 25-year-old, who leads the Seahawks in targets, caught one pass for 12 yards Sunday. He entered Week 7 with 406 yards and two touchdowns on 30 receptions this season.

With Metcalf sidelined, receiver Marquise Goodwin stepped up, leading the team with 67 yards and two touchdowns on four catches.
