Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift suffered a shoulder sprain in Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings, a source told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Swift isn't expected to undergo surgery, but he could miss some time, Pelissero adds.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell confirmed Monday that Swift has a shoulder injury, according to Colton Pouncy of The Athletic.

"We'll see where he's at. It could be an issue," Campbell said.

The 23-year-old was originally questionable for Week 3 with an ankle injury. He registered seven carries and three catches versus Minnesota, while Jamaal Williams led the team in rushing with 87 yards and two touchdowns on 20 attempts.

Swift said postgame he re-injured his ankle, according to Kyle Meinke of MLive.com.

The Georgia product leads the Lions in rushing this season after racking up 231 yards (8.6 per carry) and one touchdown on the ground through the first three games. He's also caught eight passes for 77 yards and one score.

Swift has yet to play a full season since entering the NFL as a second-round pick in 2020. He missed four games in 2021 after being sideline for three contests during his rookie campaign.

Detroit plays the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots before its Week 6 bye.
