New York Giants wide receiver Kenny Golladay isn't happy with his lack of playing time this season.

"I came here to play," Golladay said Wednesday, according to Connor Hughes of SNY.

The 28-year-old added he doesn't agree with his team's decision not to play him, but said, "I don't really have a choice."

Golladay played 77% of New York's offensive snaps in Week 1 but was limited to only two catches for 22 yards on two targets. He then logged only two snaps in Week 2 despite carrying a $21.15-million cap hit, the highest in the NFL among wide receivers, according to Spotrac.

Being sidelined for most of the Carolina Panthers game confused Golladay, who said he's received praise from first-year head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen.

"The GM, head coach, all these coaches keep saying, 'You do everything right, you handle yourself the right way.' It's a little confusing," Golladay said.

"I should be playing regardless," he added.

The Giants, who overhauled their coaching staff and front office this year, gave Golladay a four-year, $72-million contract in the 2021 offseason under coach Joe Judge and general manager Dave Gettleman. New York parted ways with Judge and Gettleman following the 2021 campaign.

Golladay said he isn't sure whether he'd request a trade if his snap counts don't increase moving forward, adding that he's currently focused on Week 3.

"I'm preparing like I'm going to be playing, but who knows," he said.

Golladay enjoyed two 1,000-yard seasons and led the NFL in touchdown catches once as a member of the Detroit Lions from 2017-20. The one-time Pro Bowler caught 37 passes for 521 yards in 14 games during his first season with the Giants in 2021 while failing to register a touchdown.
