Kamara inactive vs. Bucs due to rib injury
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to a rib injury.
Kamara was a non-participant at practice Thursday and Friday because of the ailment. He was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice.
Kamara was quiet in Week 1, rushing for only 39 yards on nine carries, but has been a focal point of the Saints' offense for years. He received a career-high 240 carries last year, leading to 898 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. He also also caught 47 passes for 439 yards and five touchdowns.
The Saints defeated the Atlanta Falcons with a comeback effort in Week 1, and will take on another divisional foe in the Buccaneers in Week 2. Tampa Bay is coming off a season-opening victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans is active for the contest despite a calf injury, though Julio Jones is inactive due to a knee issue.
