Landry: 'Breath of fresh air to be back home' with Saints

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Jarvis Landry said Thursday he's already feeling rejuvenated by his return to Louisiana.

"It's been a breath of fresh air to be back home, to be around the culture that's already been set here in New Orleans, the leadership that's here already," he said, according to Katherine Terrell of The Athletic.

Landry, a former LSU star, signed a one-year deal with the Saints in May after spending the last four seasons with the Cleveland Browns.

The 29-year-old is looking to rebound from the least productive year of his NFL tenure with his new team.

Landry had career lows in catches (52), yards (570), and touchdowns (two) while suiting up in 12 games in 2021. He racked up 236 catches for 2,990 yards and 13 scores across the three years prior, earning two Pro Bowl nods.

"I'm happy to be on the grass, be running routes, have an opportunity to learn and be part of the culture and the team and find my place here," he said.

Landry will be part of a new-look wideout group for New Orleans.

The NFC South club traded up in April's draft to select former Ohio State standout Chris Olave at No. 11 overall, while 2019 Offensive Player of the Year Michael Thomas is set to return after missing all of 2021 with an ankle injury.
