The Seattle Seahawks are retaining safety Quandre Diggs on a three-year deal worth $40 million, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Diggs was reportedly expected to be sidelined four-to-five months after exiting the 2021 regular-season finale with a broken leg and dislocated ankle.
However, Seattle felt confident enough in the safety's rehab to give him a long-term deal, Rapoport adds.
Diggs has been a key piece of Seattle's secondary since being acquired in a midseason trade with the Detroit Lions in 2019. He's made the Pro Bowl in each of his last two seasons.
He put up a career-high 94 tackles in 2021 while his five interceptions tied a personal best.
Diggs isn't the only familiar face returning to the secondary - cornerback Sidney Jones is also coming back, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Jones started a career-high 11 games with the Seahawks last season.
Seattle is in the midst of a transition this offseason after trading quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos and releasing longtime starting linebacker Bobby Wagner.
