Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley has been fined around $100,000 for multiple violations of COVID-19 protocols, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
Beasley was docked $14,600 in August when league officials came into the facility. That fee has been doubled on multiple occasions through video monitoring by the NFL, Mortensen adds.
The Bills wideout is unvaccinated and currently on the COVID-19 list, forcing him to miss Sunday's game against the New England Patriots. He's vocalized complaints about the league's protocols for much of the 2021 campaign, stating on Instagram earlier this week that "COVID is not keeping me out of this game. The rules are."
Beasley will still receive his pay for Sunday's game due to an agreement between the NFL and players' union, Mortensen notes.
However, numerous executives around the league believe unvaccinated players who miss games due to COVID-19 should not be paid and want the policy looked at for next season, per Mortensen.
Beasley is wrapping up his third season with the Bills. He's recorded 76 receptions for 640 yards and one touchdown.
