Robert Griffin III is opening up about his time with the Washington Football Team in a new book.

The former quarterback announced Tuesday that he co-authored a book titled "Surviving Washington," which will be released next summer. It's described as an "explosive tell-all" that details "the shocking mismanagement and toxic culture within the most dysfunctional professional football team in America."

In his announcement, Griffin said the book will shed light on the knee injury he suffered in a playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks and the "medical mismanagement" he received from the team, among other topics.

Griffin was drafted second overall by Washington in 2012 and spent three seasons with the team before being released.

The 31-year-old is currently working as an analyst for ESPN, though he has expressed a desire to continue playing in the NFL and even asked Washington to "make the call" earlier this season after the team lost quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to an injury.
