Browns' Conklin out for season after tearing patellar tendon
Conklin suffered the injury in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens. Cameras showed his knee buckling as he tried to walk to the sideline with trainers. Conklin was carted to the locker room from the sideline before being ruled out.
The 27-year-old is one of the NFL's premier right tackles. He signed a three-year deal with the Browns last year and earned his second career first-team All-Pro nod after starting 15 games for the team in 2020.
Conklin wasn't able to replicate that success this season. He only started seven of Cleveland's first 12 games in 2021 after battling knee and elbow injuries.
Blake Hance filled in after Conklin's early exit against the Ravens and is expected to start at right tackle the rest of the way.
