Deebo Samuel to undergo MRI after suffering groin injury vs. Vikings
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel will undergo an MRI after suffering a groin injury in Sunday's 34-26 win over the Minnesota Vikings, Kyle Shanahan said postgame, according to Nick Wagoner of ESPN.
Samuel walked off the field with 49ers staff before entering the medical tent late in the third quarter.
Shanahan added that he's hopeful the injury is just a "minor strain" but will know more Monday, according to David Lombardi of The Athletic. Samuel also said that he isn't too concerned about the injury's severity.
The 25-year-old finished Sunday's contest with just one reception for 12 yards, but his lone catch put him over 1,000 receiving yards on the season. He also added 66 yards on the ground with two rushing touchdowns versus the Vikings.
Samuel is in the midst of a breakout campaign during his third season with the 49ers. The former 2019 second-round pick entered Week 12 with 1,131 yards from scrimmage and a league-high 15.3 yards per touch.
Additionally, linebacker Fred Warner is also set for tests on a hamstring injury, Shanahan noted, per Wagoner.
The 49ers' win over the Vikings was their third in a row and moved them to 6-5.
