Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is expected to miss a few weeks with a hamstring injury suffered during Thursday's game against the Houston Texans, head coach Matt Rhule told the media Friday.

Rhule said he doesn't know if the superstar rusher will be out "one, two, three, or four weeks," according to ESPN's David Newton.

McCaffrey pulled up lame on a second-quarter carry and exited the game after just seven rushes and two receptions. He entered Week 3 leading the league with 324 yards from scrimmage.

He was also looking to rebound from an injury-riddled 2020 in which he played just three games due to various injuries.

With McCaffrey sidelined, the Panthers will turn to rookie Chuba Hubbard and veteran Royce Freeman at running back.

The 3-0 Panthers visit the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 3.
