Saints sign Devonta Freeman to 1-year deal

Veteran running back Devonta Freeman has agreed to a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints, his agent told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Freeman visited the organization earlier Saturday.
The former fourth-rounder made four starts for the New York Giants last season, rushing for 172 yards and averaging 3.2 yards per carry.
Freeman is most memorably known for his time with the Atlanta Falcons from 2014 to 2019. He accumulated 3,972 rushing yards with the Falcons, earning two Pro Bowl nods. His best season came in 2016 during Atlanta's Super Bowl run, as he rushed for 1,079 yards.
The Saints will throw Freeman into a crowded running back room that also features Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray, among others.
