Aaron Rodgers' immediate future with the Green Bay Packers is secure after completing a revised contract, and the star quarterback is happy to put the drama that dominated the NFL offseason to bed and return to work.

"It's the best feeling," Rodgers told NFL Network's James Jones, per NFL.com's Nick Shook. "It was a little strange, I think, Day 1 just because I was gone for the entire offseason and contemplated my own future and the possibility of playing somewhere else as well. But when I'm back here, I'm 100 percent all in.

"You know me, you know what I'm all about. I love my teammates. I love competing. I do love practice. I love to go out and give it to the young corner when I can, get after these guys, talk a little smack, especially with a new D-coordinator in here, we've got to let him know how it goes around here. It's good to be back."

One of the conditions of Rodgers' return was trading for former Packers standout Randall Cobb.

Green Bay acquired the veteran wide receiver from the Houston Texans for a reported sixth-round pick. General manager Brian Gutekunst admitted the move was "very important" to Rodgers.

When asked about how excited he was to reunite with the wideout, Rodgers said that "it's hard to put into words," adding he and Cobb "shed some tears" upon hearing the news.

The 37-year-old confirmed he considered retirement during a candid press conference following his first practice of training camp Wednesday.

The reigning MVP's future beyond 2021 remains uncertain. What would've been the final campaign of Rodgers' deal in 2023 has been voided under the new terms, and the Packers have committed to reviewing the quarterback's situation next offseason.
