The Dallas Cowboys will be featured on HBO's "Hard Knocks" in the leadup to the 2021 season, NFL Films announced Friday.

Each year, HBO produces a five-episode documentary while intimately following one team throughout training camp. The 2021 season premiere is scheduled for Aug. 10.

Dallas was one of five clubs eligible for selection in 2021, along with the Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, and Denver Broncos. Since 2014, teams have been allowed to decline participation if they have a first-year head coach, have made the playoffs in the last two seasons, or have appeared on the show within the last 10 years.

The Cowboys will head to training camp with plenty of intriguing storylines for HBO to follow: quarterback Dak Prescott returns from a season-ending ankle injury, running back Ezekiel Elliott looks to rebound from a horrid 2020 campaign, and head coach Mike McCarthy enters his second year under much scrutiny.

The Cowboys have been featured on "Hard Knocks" twice before, debuting in 2002 before appearing again in 2008.

The Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers shared the stage last year, which marked the first time two teams had been featured on "Hard Knocks" simultaneously.
