The Washington Football Team signed defensive back Bobby McCain to a one-year deal, his agent Drew Rosenhaus informed ESPN's Adam Schefter.

McCain spent the first six years of his career with the Miami Dolphins but was cut last week after the team signed Jason McCourty.

He transitioned to safety in 2019 and started 15 games at strong safety last season, recording 46 tackles and an interception.

McCain joins a Washington secondary led by safeties Landon Collins and Kamren Curl, corners Kendall Fuller and William Jackson III, and third-round draft pick Benjamin St-Juste.
