Seahawks' Adams says he'll likely need multiple offseason surgeries
Shortly after the Seattle Seahawks' 30-20 playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams, safety Jamal Adams revealed he'll likely undergo multiple offseason surgeries.
The 25-year-old said he played through a torn left labrum and two broken fingers toward the end of the season, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson. Adams could also need surgery for a right shoulder injury, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
His first season in the Pacific northwest concluded Saturday. The former LSU product was impactful after joining the Seahawks following a trade from the New York Jets, tallying 83 tackles - including 11 for a loss - and setting the single-season record for most sacks by a defensive back (9.5).
Adams played in only 12 games during the 2020 campaign due to injuries. Even though Seattle won the NFC West, he considers the season a failure because the team didn't reach the Super Bowl, according to team reporter John Boyle.
"At the end of the day, we know what our mission was, and we fell short," Adams said.
