Stafford to undergo X-rays after suffering rib injury vs. Packers
Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford suffered a rib injury late in Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Stafford was hurt on a red-zone scramble midway through the fourth quarter when Packers defensive tackle Kenny Clark hit him. The veteran stayed in for the next play, but he exited the field holding his left side.
Detroit listed Stafford as questionable to return, and Chase Daniel played the remainder of the game under center.
Interim Lions head coach Darrell Bevell said Stafford will undergo X-rays on his ribs, according to ESPN's Michael Rothstein.
Bevell added postgame that it's "too early to tell" if Stafford will miss time, saying it would "take something drastic" for him to sit out next week, according to MLive's Benjamin Raven.
The 32-year-old has played through several injuries during his career. He was even questionable for the Week 14 tilt with a thumb ailment.
The Lions dropped to 5-8 with the defeat, and Green Bay clinched the NFC North for the second straight season.
